Golden Mini Irish Meat Pies Filled with Savory Beef Gravy – Perfect for Parties!

Ingredients:

1 tbsp olive oil

1 onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 lb (450 g) ground beef

1 tbsp tomato paste

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp dried thyme

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tbsp flour

3/4 cup beef stock

Salt and pepper to taste

2 sheets puff pastry (thawed)

2 sheets shortcrust pastry (thawed)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a mini muffin or tart pan.

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté until soft and translucent.

Add ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper.

Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to combine. Cook for 1 minute.

Add beef stock and simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool.

Cut shortcrust pastry into circles and press into the muffin tin to form the base. Fill each with beef mixture.

Cut puff pastry into slightly smaller circles and place over the top of each pie. Press edges to seal and crimp with a fork.

Brush tops with beaten egg and bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.

Let cool slightly before serving. Perfect for dipping in ketchup or brown sauce!
