Craving bold, smoky flavors? This BBQ bacon pizza brings the perfect blend of crispy bacon, melty cheese, and tangy sauce — all on a golden crust. Add chicken or jalapeños for extra flair!
Ingredients
For the Pizza:
1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade, for a 12-inch pizza)
½ cup smoky barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
6–8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and chopped
1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup shredded smoked gouda or sharp cheddar
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
½ cup cooked, shredded chicken (optional for extra protein)
1 tbsp olive oil
Optional Toppings:
Sliced jalapeños for a spicy kick
Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat to 475°F (245°C).
If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat thoroughly.
2. Roll Out the Dough:
On a floured surface, roll dough into a 12-inch circle.
Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet or a pizza peel if using a stone.
3. Build the Pizza:
Spread BBQ sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
Sprinkle with mozzarella and smoked gouda (or cheddar).
Top with chopped bacon, red onion slices, and shredded chicken if using.
Drizzle olive oil lightly over the top.
4. Bake:
Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
5. Garnish & Serve:
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh cilantro or parsley.
Add jalapeño slices if you like a spicy finish.
Slice and enjoy immediately!
Tips & Variations:
Add a few drops of liquid smoke to your BBQ sauce for an ultra-smoky twist.
Swap bacon for smoked sausage, pancetta, or ham.
Use a cheese blend (like Monterey Jack or provolone) for extra meltiness.
